Frustrating Friday!

For a recap on what's happened Mon-Thurs: HBK2 Cliff Notes Version and Main Characters Chart

***

In this segment King David answers the door and lets Daniel in. It's early in the morning before school starts and he's there to pick up Tranquility in order to take her and her sister to school.

When Sarah hears the news that a boy is has come for her daughter, she rushes out to see him. In her joy she wants to give Daniel a hug, but David quickly takes hold of her. Sarah can't have any contact with a male over the age of 13. It would violate her betrothal to David. (More info on the seriousness of Betrothals in the Royal Family Ch 2, Pt 3)

As Sarah and David settle down into armchairs, with Daniel sitting on the couch, Daniel asks them a question. He wants to know if he'll be away from home all the time too if he becomes King.

David ends up telling him about the time Dave was almost killed in a firing range at 5 yrs of age. Because David risked his life to save him, though he is his own son, David is never allowed to bring his family with him on any more of his yearly trips around the world. This incident was also covered up by Geth, David's royal adviser.

David even asks for Daniel to never speak of this incident to anyone else, fearing that the Half-Blood people will be furious with their King if they ever found out. Daniel agrees to keep this a secret.
