Tranquility goes over to Derek's house and ends up in a room with four other people besides him, Trini, Kat, Kevin, and her brother Dave. Knowing that Trini would be able to tell if she were lying, Tranquility is forced to tell the truth.

So far she has admitted to only keeping Daniel as a back-up once she received a conditional betrothal promise from Derek, which is true. If Derek had said he would for sure be at the Betrothal Ceremony and would pick her, Tranquility would have then been happy to dump Daniel. (Ch 20, Pt 1)
